Sun Tan & Son Can
I don’t know why I do it every year. It’s not like I’m a teenager or college kid at the beach, but whenever the sun peeks out more than the cool days of early Spring, I head out in pursuit of the sun tan.
By mid-July, the days become so hot, and my work demands more time, that I’m no longer committed, and the once pale tone, begins to return.
By August, I wonder “what happened” and why had I wasted so much time searching for the sun.
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
It can be that way in our pursuit of Christ. We get hot on the trail for Jesus, and all of our thoughts are of His kingdom and drawing closer to Him. It’s a great time of connection.
Then, life gets in the way. Life of all things. The irony is that God gave us this life, yet we allow it to separate our thoughts from His will.
But we know the truth. It’s not life that gets in the way, it’s sin. Life is good because God created it. Whether it’s the vanity of sunning by a pool or the depravity of sexual bondage or addiction, sin kills our walk with Christ.
Can we be restored? The Son can!!!
