Never Forget, But Have We Already?

This is an especially tough day for me, as I would expect it is for most Americans. I debated over waiting to send out this week’s church bulletin today because it’s hard to keep emotions so deeply stirred in check.

Debate

I understand there are horrible tragedies across the globe and that although we tend to “Americanize” Jesus, suffering is a universal experience. With that said, today’s anti-American sentiment has shown just how close we are to the tribulation. I’m not saying the end is here, but I do know that the end is near.

Whether you’re an American or not, that should bring you comfort as a Christian. It’s not about nationalities. We are one in the Body of Christ, so for those living in the body, we will all experience the return of Christ when He claims us (His Bride).

Twin Towers

When we experience human suffering through unimaginable events like September 11, 2001, or mass-casualty events either natural or man-made, they should serve as a time of recollection and realization that they will fail in comparison to the tribulation.

I’m not offering this to scare you, but do you recall watching those poor souls jumping from the Twin Towers and the sound of their bodies smashing into the awning and street below? They chose suicide over the inferno. It’s still seared into my memory. Imagine that terror and desperate desire to escape, but there will be no way out of the tribulation until judgement.

Time Is Now

I believe the church is doing a major disservice to people by not cutting to the chase and telling them exactly what the truth and consequences are for failing to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. I mean God will never force you to love Him because we’re blessed with a free will, but unless we know exactly what we’re facing without God, then it’s not being genuine.

God doesn’t want mindless robots doing His bidding. He wants a real-time, loving relationship with you. He wants to bless you like no one ever can or will. If you doubt or say that it isn’t true, then you’ve not given your life completely to Him. I know it’s hard because most of us have been abused at some point by someone we trusted, but this isn’t that situation.

Choose Wisely

Throughout the day today please take time to remember the events of September 11, 2001. If you’re too young to recall them, then research it. Our lives are fragile and out of our own control. Taking the chance to do what you want and avoid God’s loving plan for your life is a choice, but a risky choice. God has never broken a promise. This is one of my most favored promised that He made to me and you as believers. You can trust this 100%

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~ Jeremiah 29:11
